What Is the IDEAL Breast Lift? Dr. Ted Eisenberg
Dr. Ted Eisenberg’s groundbreaking technique takes the guesswork out of Breast Lift Surgery – without and without implants.
Have you ever tried to cut your hair yourself? You trim a little bit from the left side and then a little bit from the right side, using your ears as a guideline. Oops. It’s not even, so you go back and forth and back and forth. Before you know it, your hair is too short.
Plastic surgeons have a similar challenge during breast lift (mastopexy) surgery when they strive to lift and even out even droopy breasts. The traditional approach is to draw a pattern, cut away the skin on one side, and then tailor tack it back together. Surgeons repeat the process on the other side and then compare. If the breasts are not symmetrical, they go back and forth, trimming skin until the breasts are even.
After years of using this approach, Dr. Eisenberg had an “aha moment” in the operating room: “I wondered what would happen if I reversed the process and tacked the skin together first? Then I could see the new breast shape and symmetry before I made a single incision.”
He was delighted with the results. “With this technique, I know precisely how much skin needs to be removed. It takes the guesswork out of the procedure. It has made a significant difference for me, and I have taught the technique to surgeons around the world.”
This approach is particularly useful for simultaneous augmentation mastopexy (a breast lift with implants), which is even more challenging because the surgeon has to make droopy breasts fuller by stretching the skin with implants and firmer by tightening the skin during the breast lift.
While some doctors prefer to do two separate operations – the breast lift first followed a few months later by the breast augmentation – Dr. Ted Eisenberg performs both procedures at the same time using his I.D.E.A.L. Breast Lift technique, simplifying this challenging procedure. Having one surgery rather than two reduces the time that you are under anesthesia. It is a safe operation that takes about 3-1/2 hours. In Her Own Words: My Experience With the I.D.E.A.L. Breast Lift
Here’s what one of our patients told us about her experience with Dr. Eisenberg:
As I sit here, only three weeks after my I.D.E.A.L. Breast Lift surgery, I already feel a whole new sense of confidence. It truly says a lot about your work when a patient does not even have her full results yet and you have already made her feel 110% more confident. I am extremely excited to see my results become even more outstanding in the coming weeks, months and years.
I cannot express how much my breast lift and augmentation mean to me. I spent four years of high school hiding my body because I felt as if I could not fit into my clothes correctly and people might find out about my “problem.” I was embarrassed to wear things that would show off any bit of cleavage since my breasts were so uneven. Just buying shirts and tank tops was a difficult task, not to mention when it came time for prom and I experienced trying on dresses, which was even more discouraging.
As I head to college, I’m excited to begin shopping as soon as possible. The fact that I will not have to hide anything anymore is the best gift I have every received. Bra shopping, bathing suit shopping, and even T-shirt shopping will be a whole new experience that I cannot wait to begin.
I can’t find the words to express my thanks to your surgical team for making my breast augmentation lift operation feel as if it was nothing to be afraid of and your office staff for always being warm and inviting, making me feel comfortable no matter what. You are a kind and amazing caregiver who always makes me feel at ease. If I ever come across anyone who needs cosmetic surgery, I know who to refer them to! Again, I will never be able to find the words to convey my appreciation for what you gave me – the comfort in my own skin.
