How Much Does Breast Augmentation Cost? – Dr. Ted Eisenberg

Dr. Ted Eisenberg, the first and only plastic surgeon in the Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware region to focus his practice entirely on cosmetic breast surgery, has performed more than 7,000 breast augmentation surgeries.

Together, you’ll discuss the difference between saline and silicone implants and choose your breast implant size. You’ll also see before and after photos. Finally, you’ll get the details of the procedure, review the risks of surgery, and learn what you can expect during the recovery period.

Call us at 1-888-SHAPE-12 to schedule your free consultation. If it's difficult for you to call us during the workday, complete our online virtual consultation form.

Does the price include anesthesia? It’s important to ask this question because the price quoted sometimes includes only the surgeon’s fee. Dr. Eisenberg’s price is all-inclusive: It covers his surgical fee, hospital and anesthesia costs, breast implants, laboratory tests, and all postoperative visits – usually at 1 week, 3 weeks, 3 months and 9 months (when possible).

While some doctors choose to perform breast augmentation and breast lift surgery in an outpatient surgicenter, Dr. Eisenberg does all of his surgeries in the safety of the operating room at Nazareth Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia. His team of anesthesiologists, nurses, technicians, and recovery room staff are talented, competent and sensitive to his patient’s needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost more to get bigger breast implants?
It’s rare for surgeons to charge more for a breast augmentation with larger-sized implants. Manufacturers don’t charge by the cubic centimeter either: They set one price for all off-the-shelf saline breast implants, whether they are 200 or 600 ccs, and another price (about $1,000 higher) for silicone gel breast implants.

Are saline and silicone breast implants the same price?
Plastic surgeons commonly charge about $1,000 more for silicone gel implants than for saline implants. That’s because silicone gel implants are more expensive to produce, and manufacturers pass that cost along to doctors.

Will my health insurance cover the surgery?
Cosmetic surgery procedures, such as breast augmentation, breast implants, and breast lift, are considered elective surgeries and are not covered by health insurance.

Can I send in $1,000 at a time until I have paid in full?
Yes, as long as the fee is fully paid before surgery. Some women do send weekly or monthly payments to us instead of making a one-time payment. If you can purchase your furniture on layaway, why not your new breasts?

Why do I have to pay for surgery in advance?
Because unlike cars, houses, or 52-inch flat-screen televisions, breast implants can’t be repossessed if you don’t pay your bill.

Can I deduct breast augmentation as a business expense?
It depends on how you use them. An exotic dancer from Indiana deducted the cost of her breast augmentation on her taxes in 1994. When the IRS objected, she took her case to tax court. The judge allowed the write-off; he ruled that her enhanced breasts were necessary stage props because they were used to generate revenue at the Indiana club where she danced. Her case made tax law history.
